Sen. Portman talks latest investigation into Iran Deal

U.S. Senator Rob Portman talked to Your News Now Friday about the release of his Iran deal Investigative report from the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, which he chairs.

Senator Portman told us, for the past 18 months, they've been investigating claims that the Obama Administration might have misled Congress and the American people by entering into an agreement with Iran. This, regarding taking some of the dollars that Iran was to get and flown them through the U.S. financial system. So, they did an in-depth investigation and found out, that was the case.

"They did, they actually came to Congress and said we're not going to let any of this money go through the U.S. financial system, we're not going to give Iran access to it," explained Senator Portman. "But in fact, they did issue a license to Iran to be able to do that."

Senator Portman also said he will now recommend legislation that says, when you enter into these kinds of agreements, whether it's the next one with Iran or with North Korea, you have to tell the American people what you're doing and not do one thing and say another.
