With the open enrollment period for Medicare approaching, the Allen County Council on Aging wanted to offer seniors a Check-Up Day.
Individuals were able to get flu shots, blood pressure checks and a variety of other health screenings at the council on aging. The screenings were free and a chance to ask questions about concerns they may have with medications and any other health issues. An update on changes to Medicare drug plans and advantage plans was also given.
“Those plans change every year,” says Judy Jacomet, Information & Referral Specialist ACCOA. “So another thing we will be doing soon is making for people to come in and look at their plans for next year. To make sure it’s a really good plan or another one might be better for them.”
The Allen County Council on Aging will be offering one on one sessions to go over Medicare information from October 15th to December 7th. Just contact them to set up an appointment.
