COLUMBUS, OH (WLIO) – The state of Ohio has awarded counties around the state around $11 million dollars in federal Community Development Block Grand funds to make community improvements to 51 locations.   Here are the counties and projects that received funding in our area. 

Several area counties receive funding for community projects

Auglaize County will receive $184,000 to assist the village of Minster with a library elevator accessibility project, as well as the city of St. Maryʼs with a street improvements project that will benefit 505 people.

Putnam County will receive $150,000 to install an automatic door opener and make ADA accessibility improvements at the countyʼs historical society museum. In addition, the county will install playground equipment and improve the parking lot at the village park in West Leipsic, benefiting 240 people.

Hancock County will receive $150,000 to assist the village of Jenera with sidewalk improvements, benefiting 220 people.

Hardin County will receive $150,000 to purchase and install new playground equipment at Wharton Park in Kenton, benefiting all 8,125 people. Additionally, funds will be used to replace sidewalks in the Ada, benefitting 940 people.

Mercer County will receive $150,000 to repair the existing seawall and install a new seawall with a sidewalk cap to prevent soil erosion at a park in the village of Montezuma. The project will benefit 105 people.
