MILLER CITY, Ohio (WLIO) — Girls basketball took center stage across West Central Ohio, and one of the marquee matchups featured two undefeated Putnam County rivals with a combined 20 wins entering the night.
Top-ranked Ottawa-Glandorf, the No. 1 team in Division V, welcomed Division VII No. 1 Miller City to J. Harry Leopold Gymnasium in a battle of unbeatens.
Ottawa-Glandorf struck first in the opening quarter as Savannah Recker fired a cross-court pass to Karsyn Erford, who calmly set her feet and knocked down a three-pointer to give the Lady Titans a one-point edge.
Miller City answered quickly. Junior Anna Lammers buried a three of her own, part of a team-high 15-point performance for the Wildcats. The Wildcats continued to push the pace in transition, with Vivian Otto finding Kayla Erford for an and-one finish that put Miller City up three.
The Titans responded by turning defense into offense. Allison Kuhlman jumped a passing lane for a steal and raced the other way for a layup, cutting the deficit to two. The sophomore finished the game with 10 points.
From there, Ottawa-Glandorf leaned on its senior leader. Karsyn Erford attacked the lane for a tough finish through contact, part of a dominant night that saw her tie her career high with 30 points. The performance also moved Erford into third place on Ottawa-Glandorf’s all-time scoring list, surpassing Erin Kaufman.
Behind Erford’s scoring surge, the Lady Titans pulled away late and protected their perfect record.
Ottawa-Glandorf remained unbeaten with a 56–50 win over Miller City.
