ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Santa Claus was accompanied by Mrs. Claus, who helped him take pictures with the fortunate children who had received a special gift from the North Pole 15 days before Christmas.
The children also had the chance to explore Santa's workshop and purchase gifts for their families for $5 or less. Buddy the Elf and Jovie were also present at the event. The Santa Social was open to the community. It featured various holiday vendors, a sneak peek of Lyn's Dance Academy Nutcracker Performance, and a Christmas Tree Raffle with a dozen decorated trees up for grabs.
"This is hosted by our Parent Taskforce, and the money is going to go towards helping different events that happen in our school around the year: kid's events for the school, for teacher appreciation, and different things like that. We are also taking 10% of the proceeds that we make today, and that's going to be donated to service that we are doing here with the Allen County Council on Aging. We've partnered with them for this Advent season, and so 10% of our proceeds are going to go to donate to them." says Megan Scheid, Principal of St. Charles Catholic School.
St. Charles will also contribute some of the remaining proceeds towards a STEM and Arts Program, which they hope to have funded by next year.
