The 3-day St. Henry Community Picnic was packed with fun events like live music, a car show, bingo, raffles, and competitions like a pickleball tournament and a kids tractor pull. One of the highlights of Sunday's schedule was the Mercer County Challenger baseball game. The organization has been providing an accessible, welcoming group for those with physical and developmental disabilities to enjoy sports for over 30 years, and this is their 6th year playing during St. Henry's annual holiday festival.

"We do have a motto. That is no outs; everybody hits, everybody plays, and everybody wins. Really, our program is a lot about patriotism, the family, and all the happiness that we see on the players faces," explained Jenelle Backs, the president of Mercer County Challenger Baseball.

"And for them, it's a sense of community. A lot of our families have been here for years, and it's just nice seeing everybody come together and being able to enjoy their time together," added vice president Cindy Fullenkamp.

Before the game, Gels IGA Market presented a check to Mercer County Challenger Baseball for money raised from a cookout they held last month to benefit the organization.
