Story Time Giving Children a Head Start

The Auglaize County Public Library is helping children get a jump start on their learning.

The library located in Wapakoneta hosts a story time for children of all ages. Usually, it's the children who haven't started school yet that get the most out of it. The story time includes not just reading books, but interspersed activities throughout the 45 minute sessions. Story time occurs every Tuesday in the basement of the Auglaize County Public Library at 10:30 AM. All the activities are learning based and they finish with some sort of physical activity or craft that parents can work with their children on.

"It's really like the best place to be," said Library Services Manager of Auglaize County Libraries, Kristine Spyker. "If you're not at school yet, this is the best place to be for educational opportunities. And as a family and to teach the parents too, what thy could be doing at home during play time and to encourage literacy."
