Young minds were given the opportunity to learn more about the STEM field.
Students from Lima Senior High School and Tri-Star Career Compact attended Rhodes State College’s STEM day, which has participants engage in a variety of activities with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Organizers state that the information that is learned today, could lead these students to continue to explore a profession in the STEM field.
"Very important to focus on the STEM technologies," said Erik Robey, STEM Chair at Rhodes State College. "Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics, IT, you know as we move with new inventions and new equipment, everything has become very complicated and all of those core fundamentals are now going different directions. So when we look at the engineering space, robotics, GPS, and all of those other things are now those critical components in those designs."
Students also competed in small competitions with the knowledge they learned from the event.
