The trip to Washington, D.C., is important for the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center in Lima. Task Force Lima will be speaking to various legislators and committees responsible for determining the amount of financial support for JSMC.
As lawmakers discuss the appropriation bills that will impact JSMC, Allen County Commissioner Cory Noonan says physically traveling to Washington is crucial to demonstrate how the machinery produced at the Allen County plant positively benefits the world.
Task Force Lima will be speaking to various legislators and committees responsible for determining the amount of financial support for JSMC.
"To be able to go down to D.C., to get in front of all of our representatives, to get in front of our senators... Some of them are new, to get in front of their staff and really discuss what goes on here, the financial contributions that are done in Washington, and what that means, not just to our community because it is very important but what it means to our country, so that is the goal is to get down there and talk to our decision-makers and the legislative staff that works with them," commented Cory Noonan, Allen County Commissioner.
