As this is the third summer without a city pool, residents of Lima still have options to beat the heat.
Both splash pads in the city have been activated for the season and families have already been taking advantage of the cool water. You can find the pads in two of the parks. One is at Lima Stadium Park and the other is at the Children’s Fountain in Faurot Park.
Lexie Jones said, “We came out to just have fun. You know, just get out of the house come to play in the water. Get the kids and have fun with them.”
Davin Merriman commented, “So much fun and we were at the water park to have fun.”
Alyssa Merriman added, "Of course, we got out of the house to do whatever we’re doing here. There’s a lot to do a little bit. It’s always good to get out of the house and play in the water and that.”
The splash pads are set to run from around 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily through the summer months.
