"I went outside and looked, and the skies were relatively clear. It was relatively calm, so I went up town to Dairy Queen to get me a Blizzard, and I ended up with a tornado. Before I could get home, back on Orchard Island, I came over the bridge; I couldn't see halfway up the hood of my car because of the debris and the rain coming across. My son-in-law was yelling at me on the phone to hit the ditch, get out of the car and get out into the ditch, so I ended up in front of Spend-a-Day Marina. I turned into their parking lot, and as I did, the car spun around and it slammed me into the covered boat docks. At that time, pontoon boats started coming up onto my car out of the boat slips... the tornado was on me. Something hit the side of my car and dented my car extremely bad. In fact, the insurance company just left, and they totaled the car. I made it home; I had to drive over some telephone poles and a lot of road debris because there were cars in the other roads, and I couldn't get through... So, I made it home; my house was there; my fence was gone; my neighbors were all there, and everything was good.... luckily.... luckily, I made it through it," shares Robert Rose, survived tornado inside his car.
