LIMA, OH (WLIO) - This afternoon, students at Freedom Elementary tuned in to The NED Show, an assembly program that teaches the importance of having a growth mindset.
The program focuses on three key character lessons - never giving up, encouraging others, and doing your best. The NED Show has been visiting schools worldwide for over 30 years. Ned, a cartoon character, demonstrates how small actions and decisions can greatly impact personal goals, academic accomplishments, and attitude. Ned's adventures and entertaining tricks inspire students to practice character lessons daily.
"I do the show called NED's Mindset Mission, and I use yo-yo tricks and magic tricks to convey a message about positive thinking and a growth mindset. We go on this whole trip from Mount Everest to outer space to meet Captain Kindly on an island where we learn that everyone is a treasure. I really speak with students about finding that positive thinking and realizing that you can do whatever you put your mind to even if you don't get it on the first try," said John Wells, performer.
The NED Show has had a long-lasting impact on students, and Ned often remains a role model for them even after the assembly.
