Police have arrested an Urbana mother after they say her 7-year-old son came to school high on cocaine.
The child has been released from a hospital and is expected to be okay. Urbana police believe the case could have been worse had it not been for the quick thinking of the elementary school staff. The child appeared tired and unresponsive during lunch. That's when emergency workers were called and soon the student was flown to a hospital. Doctors discovered cocaine in the boy's system which they believe he inhaled at home. Police report the mother was later found under the influence of cocaine, meth, and fentanyl.
She faces multiple charges.
