Water Levels Low at Auglaize River

Looking at the Auglaize River in Wapakoneta, many people have noticed water levels are down. River levels are down, but it's not due to a lack of rain. Water has been removed from the Auglaize River purposely to get ready for a major replacement project. The city of Wapakoneta is finalizing paperwork to replace more than a mile of the Southwest Interceptor Sewer Line.

With the sewer line being so close to the river, pumps will have to be used to pump water away from the work area. By removing boards from the dam and letting water levels lower, less water will have to be pumped. The project is expect to get underway in about one month. Upon finishing the sewer replacement, the boards will be put back into place and river levels should return to their original state.
