It was unveiled back in 2018 and has been a hit in parades around the region.
"Half Pint" was created to attend public events in place of the full-size tank. It’s a half-scaled version of an M1A1 Abrams battle tank and will soon see a scaled-down version of a Stryker riding alongside it. The Veteran’s Freedom Flag Foundation is currently raising funds for a trailer to haul them together.
Charlie Couch is Chairman of Operation Hal Pint and explains, “We are currently fabricating a half-scale replica of a Stryker vehicle. So with that being said we’re going to be in need of a bigger trailer, and with the market right now we’re looking at probably around $50,000. Yeah, so, we’re reaching out to do all the fundraising and donating that we can possibly do right now.”
They will be holding an Operation Half Pint 5K Run on June 4th starting at 9 am in Faurot Park. There will be a tailgate party following the race until 1 pm. Check out Operation Half Pint on Facebook for more details.
