One of the people living with Vera Jo Reigle at the time of her death, is sentenced for hindering the police investigation.
Findlay resident, Cheri Brooks is charged with obstructing justice. Judge Reginald Routson sentenced Brooks to a 120 day stay at the Hancock County Jail. The judge suspended 90 days, reducing the sentence to 30 days behind bars. However, Brooks's medical conditions will first be evaluated. If she is too ill to stay in jail, the 30 days will be suspended as well. Brooks was also sentenced to five years of probation.
She is accused of misleading Findlay police officers during their investigation of Reigle's death. Two of Brooks's sons have already been sentenced for obstructing justice in the case.
Zachary Brooks was given four years in prison on two counts.
Michael Brooks was sentenced to 30 days in jail and probation.
Changes in sentencing laws in late September are one reason Cheri and Michael Brooks have the reduced sentences.
The man accused of killing Reigle is Cheri Brooks's cousin.
