The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 has secured construction funding for two projects that will address safety at four intersections along the U.S. 30 corridor in Van Wert County. Funding for two safety projects which will build two RCUTs and a roundabout along the U.S. 30 corridor will alter four intersections in Van Wert County in 2026 or 2027.
The City of Lima has contracted with The Shelly Company for annual resurfacing of city streets with work to begin on August 28th. The contractor will post “no parking” signs 48 hours in advance of the estimated start dates along the targeted roads.
The Allen County Engineer's Office is responsible for the maintenance of Allen County's local highway system, which includes 352 miles of county roads and 550 miles of township roads. Also maintained are 378 bridges and over 1,400 culverts of various sizes. The 12 townships and the county engineer cooperate in a working relationship that is unique in northwest Ohio.
