48-year-old John Sanders is facing charges of Felonious Assault and Kidnapping, both with a gun specification. Police say Sanders was involved in a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend in September. During the argument, she left the home and came back to get medication she left behind, and Sanders shot twice through the door nearly hitting her.
David Henry is facing charges after an alleged incident where he threatened an individual with a handgun in the city. Henry's charges include one count of Felonious Assault with a firearm specification and one count of having weapons under disability. On May 19th of this year, Henry entered a plea deal with the state. He entered a change of plea of not guilty to guilty to the felonious assault charge, in exchange for the dismissal of the firearm specification and the second count of having weapons under disability.
Romiere Hale was arrested back on April 13th of this year, after four-year-old Ma'Laya Dewitt was found unresponsive in her home located on North Elizabeth Street, she was pronounced deceased at an area hospital shortly after. Hale was indicted on eight counts of endangering children, one count of involuntary manslaughter, and one count of murder. Hale entered a plea of not guilty to all counts.
Larry J. Burkhart appeared with his representation for the first day of his trial. Burkhart is facing multiple charges, three first-degree felony rape charges, four third-degree gross sexual imposition charges, and two fourth-degree felony gross sexual imposition charges. During today's trial, both victims appeared on the witness stand and spoke on what transpired during a two-year span between 2017 and 2019. Both victims at the time were under the age of 13.

David W. Harris was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on Robbery (Felony 2), Kidnapping (Felony 1), and three counts of Rape (Felony 1) charges. According to the indictment, on or about January 1st, 2021, Harris robbed and kidnapped a woman and engaged in sexual conduct with her. Harris will now appear in Allen County Common Pleas Court for a Pre-trial on March 4th, 2021.
