28-year-old Quintez Burns failed to appear at his trial on the charge of felonious assault for an alleged incident that happened in 2021. Investigators say there was a fight following a basketball game at the YMCA that left a man seriously injured. Burns was scheduled to have a change of plea hearing earlier this summer but instead asked for a new attorney after he says they didn't see eye to eye on his defense. An Allen County man has been indicted on multiple charges of sexual battery. 33-year-old Levi Oglesbee has been charged with 10 counts of sexual battery by an Allen County Grand Jury. According to the indictment, the incidents happened between August and September of 2022, and involved having sexual conduct with a younger person that was not his spouse. Oglesbee has entered written not guilty pleas on the charges. He is currently in the Allen County Jail, and being held on a $200,085 bond.
Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports that his Office is investigating an incident that took place at a farm in Marion Township. On Tuesday, November 15th at 8:59 PM Central Dispatch received a call from a concerned citizen. The caller reported that there is a disturbing video circulating involving a juvenile doing cruel acts to a young calf.
The school has been cleared, multiple times. There is no active shooter and there is no evidence that there had ever been one at the school. There were absolutely no injuries. The prosecution says the charges are being focused around a handful of incidents, including appointing his brother as acting fire chief days after taking the office of mayor. He also allegedly made the city pay for the construction of a sewer line to a home that his company built.
22-year-old Romiere Hale pleaded guilty to the charges of murder and endangering children. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on April 12th, 2021, where 4-year-old Ma'Laya Dewitt was found unresponsive at a home on North Elizabeth Street. She later died at the hospital. Romiere Hale was the boyfriend of her mother Stayce Riley.
A Lima man is facing multiple felony charges for an August incident where he struck a woman with a gun and had a short standoff with police. 35-year-old Jacquavious Cartwright was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on the charges of felonious assault, kidnapping, illegally growing marijuana, and possession of cocaine. The charges come after an incident on South Union St, where Cartwright allegedly hit a woman with a gun. Then he remained in the house and refused to come out. Police surrounded the home, and when the Allen County SWAT team arrived, he gave himself up. Cartwright currently in the Allen County Jail.
