A Cleveland-area lawyer has entered the race to become Ohio’s next attorney general. Elliot Forhan met with the Allen County Democrats on Saturday to discuss his campaign.

Ohio's Auditor Keith Faber announced that he will be running for the Attorney General's Seat. Faber has served both in the Ohio House and Senate before becoming the state's Auditor.
He shared the role of the auditor and his staff to place checks and balances on state and local governments to be more efficient, effective, and transparent. Most recently, they released a report on Medicaid that showed more than 100,000 people registered in Ohio as well as up to eight other states, costing Ohioans nearly a billion dollars.

The state not only looks over the books but also the legislation that determines the usage of taxpayers' dollars. By receiving a "clean audit" from the state, it does affect other aspects of government.
Susan Barnett pleaded guilty to theft in office and communications fraud back in 2019. Records state that dating as far back as 1997, Barnett was stealing money that was due to defendants in garnishments and or bankruptcy cases, depositing it into her own accounts, and then falsifying records.

Ohio’s Auditor’s office is doing audits of the unemployment compensation fraud system. While cases of fraud have started to fall recently, they have been going on since the summer of 2020. Auditor Keith Faber wonders why it took so long for the Ohio Job and Family Services to come to his office to review fraud claims that has cost the state hundreds of millions of dollars.

Former two term Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker, serving as the keynote speaker for the evening. Walker is known for surviving a recall election in 2012, before winning his second term.
Keith Faber says he was surprised that no one had a national standard for pandemic data. He is now working with others on a collective utilization of pandemic numbers. He says the public needs to have confidence in the data being used to make public policy concerning the pandemic and hopes by collecting firsthand information about the virus will help him and others to build that confidence.
