The Shawnee Township Police, in partnership with Apollo Career Center and Allen County EMA, will conduct a multi-agency, full-scale active shooter training drill on Sunday, September 7, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. The high school is not in session.

An Allen County Grand Jury returned their November indictments with a couple of cases we have been following.

Devon Ketzenberger has been indicted on aggravated murder, murder, aggravated arson and felonious assault. Ketzenberger is alleged to have started the house fire that killed his mother, Wendy Ketzenberger.

The house fire was spotted about 4 a.m. on Sept. 19. The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office told Lima Police they had Ketzenberger in custody. They say he walked from his mothers home at 113 N. Woodlawn Ave. to a house in Auglaize County. Whoever he spoke to at the house was alarmed and called law enforcement.

Shawnee Township Police releasing the identity of the body pulled from the pond off of Buckeye Road. Rasheed Almalik's body was found Tuesday morning with the help of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources sonar equipment and cadaver dog.

A suspect is being held after a Shawnee Township resident called the police saying someone was shooting from a car at or near his house. The call came in just before one this morning to the 2300 block of Adgate Road where the caller said he followed the car down to 2343 Western Ohio Avenue. A police sergeant also heard the shots. Shawnee Township Police and Allen County sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter after the suspect went inside.

The Council for a Strong America is encouraging people to fight crime and invest in kids. Lima Police Chief Kevin Martin and Shawnee Township Police Chief Michael Keith read to students at Shawnee Weekday Early Learning Center to emphasize the importance of early learning. Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Ohio is working with State Senator Matt Huffman to maintain funding in the state budget for childcare.

Shawnee Township and Lima Police Departments are working together to determine a connection between recent vandalism caused by BB guns. In a news conference, both police chiefs have said they identified three individuals who vandalized Temple Beth Israel in Lima, two vehicles, a residence and Shawnee High School in the township all in one night.
