COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio (WLIO) — With first place in the Northwest Conference on the line, Columbus Grove left little doubt.

The Bulldogs, tied with Spencerville atop the NWC standings entering the night, jumped out early and never looked back in a 44–24 win over the Bearcats.

Columbus Grove found its rhythm right away, starting from beyond the arc. Senior Elyse Fortman opened up the barrage with a three-pointer, followed by another long-range connection from junior Saige Benroth as the Bulldogs quickly built separation.

Spencerville attempted to stay within striking distance behind a jumper from Tatum Schwartz, but Columbus Grove continued to add on. Allison Thompson helped fuel the offense, swinging the ball to Fortman for another triple before turning defense into offense with a steal and a finish on the other end.

The night also featured a milestone moment for the Bulldogs. Nicole Nesby powered through contact for a basket to become Columbus Grove’s new career leader in rebounds, finishing the night with 717 boards.

Columbus Grove’s balanced attack and defensive pressure proved too much, as the Bulldogs secured the 44–24 victory to remain unbeaten in conference play.
