ADA — Columbus Grove made quick work of Spencerville on Tuesday night, sweeping the Bearcats in straight sets to earn a spot in the district tournament.
The two teams met last month when Grove also came out on top, but this time Spencerville showed early fight. Briley Cook sparked the Bearcats with a block, and senior libero Allison Post tied the opening set with an ace.
Columbus Grove’s attack took control from there. Elyse Fortman capitalized on open space for key points, and Nicole Nesby closed the first set 25-21 with a strong finish at the net. Aubrey Schroeder followed with an ace in the second set as the Bulldogs built momentum.
Columbus Grove completed the sweep 25-21, 25-23, 25-16, and will face LCC in the district round Tuesday in Wapakoneta.
