FORT LORAMIE, Ohio (WLIO) — The host Fort Loramie Redskins defended their home court against Cincinnati Country Day, but the Nighthawks proved too much for the Redskins, as they fell 57-36.
Fort Loramie entered the matchup with a 5-2 home record and got on the board first in the opening quarter. DJ Barhorst scored the Redskins’ first bucket, pulling up and banking one in off the glass. Moments later, the senior added a three-pointer from the wing to give Fort Loramie early energy.
Cincinnati Country Day responded with a run, building a double-digit lead later in the half. Fort Loramie continued to battle, as Aiden Berning found Tanner Eilerman cutting to the basket for an easy layup to keep the Redskins within reach.
Barhorst remained aggressive throughout the night, knocking down a mid-range jumper later in the half. He finished with a team-high 20 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, but the comeback effort fell short.
Cincinnati Country Day maintained control down the stretch, pulling away to secure the 57-36 win.
