BLUFFTON, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima Central Catholic bounced back from an overtime loss earlier in the week with a 64-57 road win over Bluffton in Northwest Conference boys basketball action Friday night.
The Thunderbirds entered the contest looking to regain momentum after falling to Delphos St. John’s, and they did just that by leaning on strong guard play and timely defense. LCC came in at 7-5 overall, while Bluffton sat at 4-7.
Jordan Priddy helped set the tone early, finding Dom McKee for an inside bucket to open the scoring. Freshman Cole Mack followed with a three-pointer to give the Thunderbirds an early edge.
Bluffton answered behind senior Kain Wright, who knocked down a step-back jumper to keep the Pirates within striking distance. Parker Lovell added a layup later in the quarter as Bluffton trimmed the deficit to three.
Lima Central Catholic responded with a strong stretch led by Priddy, who converted a floater before turning defense into offense with a steal and layup. Priddy later buried a three-pointer as the Thunderbirds began to create separation.
The Pirates continued to battle, but Priddy led the way offensively with 30 points, while McKee chipped in with 10 points.
With the win, Lima Central Catholic improves to 8-5 on the season. Bluffton falls to 4-8 overall.
