LIMA (WLIO) — Lima Senior made a statement in its Toledo City Athletic play, rolling past Toledo Scott 9-0 on Tuesday night.

The Spartans wasted little time getting on the board, as Semjean “Fuh-toos” Fetus slotted home the first goal of the match. Senior captain Isaac Grundisch followed with a penalty kick conversion to double the lead.

Around the 20-minute mark, Zarian Wantland extended the margin with a follow-up strike. Moments later, Emmanuel Jokinen-Rutz capped off a counterattack with another goal as the Spartans’ offense kept rolling.

Lima Senior piled on throughout the match and kept a clean sheet defensively, securing a dominant victory in their first conference test.

The Spartans move to 1-0 in league play while Toledo Scott looks to regroup heading into its next Toledo City League matchup.
