LIMA — Lima Senior flipped the script on Thursday night, avenging last year’s loss to Start with a dominant 43-0 victory in Toledo City League action.
The Spartans, who saw their nine-game winning streak snapped by Start a season ago, wasted little time setting the tone. Quarterback Ja'Niaus Hall connected with sophomore Amontrae Davis on a 24-yard touchdown in the first quarter to open the scoring.
Hall struck again in the second quarter, launching a 49-yard strike down the sideline to Jermaine Maxwell, stretching the lead to 14-0. On the other side of the ball, Jayden Jones came up with two interceptions, including one that he returned deep into Start territory.
Hall and receiver Jaelan Webster teamed up for a highlight grab to set up another score, capped off by Davis powering into the end zone from two yards out. By halftime, Lima Senior was in complete control, and the defense kept Start from mounting any momentum.
With the win, the Spartans improved to 7-0 overall and remained unbeaten in league play.
