COLUMBUS — The first Associated Press high school football rankings of the season were released, with several area programs landing in the top 10 across multiple divisions.

In Division III, Wapakoneta debuted at No. 2 in the state, trailing only Columbus Bishop Watterson.

Liberty-Benton earned recognition in Division V, checking in at No. 8 with an unbeaten record.

Division VI featured a strong local showing. Kirtland holds the top spot, while Bluffton followed closely behind at No. 2. Coldwater, which received a first-place vote, is ranked fourth.

Marion Local headlined Division VII with a unanimous No. 1 ranking. Lima Central Catholic sits right behind in second, while New Bremen landed at No. 5 after a 3-0 start. St. Henry, coming off a close game against Marion Local, is ranked seventh.
