MILLER CITY, Ohio (WLIO) — Miller City girls basketball stepped out of conference play and delivered a dominant performance, rolling past Elmwood 64-27.

The Wildcats improved to 14-2 on the season, setting the tone early. On Elmwood’s first possession, senior Selina Deal cut to the basket and finished to put the Royals on the board, but it was one of the few bright spots for the visitors.

Miller City responded quickly, as junior Anna Lammers split the defense and finished at the rim. Lammers led all scorers with 16 points, fueling the Wildcats’ offensive surge.

The Wildcats continued to build their lead behind hot shooting from the perimeter. Senior Kiera Ruhe caught fire from deep, knocking down multiple three-pointers on her way to 14 points, forcing Elmwood to burn a timeout.

Later in the game, Lammers found freshman Sophia Ruck, who knocked down a short jumper as part of her eight-point night.

Miller City never let up. Off a turnover, the ball found senior Elizabeth Erford, who finished an easy basket to extend the lead.

With the 64-27 win, Miller City moved to 15-2 on the season, while Elmwood dropped to 7-9.
