Miller City — Miller City defended its home floor with a 59–56 win over Patrick Henry, the team with the best record in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League.
The Wildcats jumped out early as Henry Rump caught fire from beyond the arc, knocking down a three and later finding Wes Tobe at the rim to help Miller City build a 14–6 lead. Rump beat the first-quarter buzzer with a corner three to give the Wildcats a 17–6 advantage after one.
Patrick Henry answered in the second quarter behind Tristen Rosebrook, who connected on three triples on his way to 14 points. Mack Hieber powered the Patriots’ offense inside, using his size to secure an offensive rebound and finish through contact. The 6-foot-6 senior made the free throw and finished with a game-high 26 points.
Miller City responded with another strong stretch from Rump, who found Jonny Pester in the corner for a three as the Wildcats carried an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter. Rump scored 21 points to help Miller City withstand a late Patriots push.
The Wildcats closed it out to earn the 59–56 victory, improving to 12–2 on the season. Patrick Henry fell to 9–3.
