CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Bud Clark had a first-half pick-six and Kevorian Barnes had a 75-yard touchdown run on the first second-half snap to help TCU spoil Bill Belichick’s college coaching debut by rolling past North Carolina 48-14 on Monday night. His Tar Heels scored on the first possession but TCU took over with 41 unanswered points. That included Devean Deal joining Clark with a defensive touchdown on a fumble return in a third quarter that turned the game into a romp.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — UCF’s starting quarterback situation is up in the air for its game Saturday against North Carolina A&T, with starter Cam Fancher dealing with a back and leg injury following a hard hit in the season opener. Coach Scott Frost said he wasn't 100% sure if Fancher would be available to play this weekend after leaving Thursday’s game against Jacksonville State following a hard hit. Tayven Jackson replaced Fancher when the game resumed after a two-hour rain delay. UCF had a three-man competition for quarterback throughout training camp that Fancher won.
BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) — ESPN blamed a transmission issue for fans missing most of the second half of No. 11 Arizona State's game against Northern Arizona. The game, streamed on ESPN+ as part of the Big 12’s agreement, wasn't the only one affected but was the most high-profile. An ESPN spokesperson said the issue occurred late Saturday and affected multiple feeds. Interruptions began early in the second half, with the feed mostly blank with choppy audio. Arizona State's athletic director apologized, and former ASU running back Cam Skattebo expressed frustration on social media. Upcoming games will be available on traditional TV channels.
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton came up limping after getting sacked against FCS member Arkansas-Pine Bluff and exited the game one play later. The No. 23 Red Raiders were leading 30-0 in the second quarter of their 67-7 win when Tayvon Hardwick came off the edge and hit Morton low. Morton appeared to injure his lower right leg. Morton took the next snap and handed off for J’Koby Williams' touchdown run. He left the field but returned to the sideline before halftime. Joey McGuire said doctors felt good about what the coach said was a hyperextended knee.
