LEIPSIC, Ohio (WLIO) — The No. 4 ranked team in Division VII showed why it holds that spot as Ottoville went on the road and defeated Leipsic in Putnam County.
Leipsic looked to cut into a double-digit deficit in the third quarter when Rylin Gerten finished an inside feed to bring the margin back to single digits. The Vikings continued to battle as freshman Kya Brandt attacked off the dribble and finished at the rim, leading Leipsic with 17 points.
Brooklyn Koester paced the Lady Green throughout the night. The junior scored on a baseline drive as part of a game-high 20-point performance.
Later in the game, Vanessa Hilvers added to Ottoville’s lead by knocking down a three-pointer from beyond the arc.
Ottoville controlled the contest from start to finish, picking up its 15th win of the season with a 55-25 victory.
