Columbus Grove — In a rematch of last season’s regional final, Patrick Henry delivered a strong response Friday night, pulling away for a 60–42 win over Division VI No. 4 Columbus Grove.
The Bulldogs struck first on their home floor, working the ball inside to senior Nicole Nesby for an early basket. Nesby finished with eight points as Columbus Grove grabbed the early lead.
Patrick Henry answered from the perimeter, with senior Carys Crossland knocking down a three-pointer to swing momentum. Crossland led all scorers with 26 points, repeatedly connecting from beyond the arc.
The game tightened as the first half moved along, with the teams tied before Columbus Grove regained a brief edge on a corner three from senior Elyse Fortman. The shot gave the Lady Dawgs a three-point advantage.
Patrick Henry took control from there. Ada Christman helped spark the Patriots’ run by pulling up and burying a midrange jumper. Christman finished with 14 points as Patrick Henry steadily built separation.
By the final buzzer, the Patriots had pulled away for a 60–42 victory, avenging last year’s postseason meeting.
