CAREY, Ohio (WLIO) — Carey continued its record-setting season Friday night, overwhelming previously undefeated Paulding 41–6 in front of a packed home crowd.
The Blue Devils asserted control early, holding the ball for nearly 10 minutes on a methodical, run-heavy drive to open the second quarter. The march ended with a 51-yard touchdown burst from Mace Puckett, putting Carey up 14–0.
Carey struck again on its second pass attempt of the night. Quarterback Tripp Phoenix found Bostyn Ritter for a touchdown, extending the lead to 20–0 after a failed PAT.
The Blue Devils’ dominant ground attack kept rolling as Dash Puckett broke through the linebackers for another score, pushing the margin to 27–0.
Paulding avoided the shutout when quarterback Colt Hunt connected with Blake Rhonehouse for the Panthers’ first — and only — touchdown of the night.
But Carey’s historic campaign continued unbothered. The Blue Devils closed out the decisive win 41–6, handing Paulding (11–1) its first and only loss of the season.
