MARIA STEIN, Ohio (WLIO) — It was an action-packed week of high school football across West Central Ohio, filled with highlight-reel moments. But there was one play that stood above the rest — earning the title of this week’s K&M Contracting Play of the Week.
This week’s top play comes from the MAC showdown between Marion Local and Versailles.
The Flyers were clinging to a 20–19 lead late in the fourth quarter with under 90 seconds remaining. The Tigers tried to air it out, but Marion Local senior Derek Knapke had other ideas. Knapke perfectly timed his jump for a huge interception, sealing the victory for the Flyers and stopping Versailles’ final drive.
With the win, Marion Local extends its incredible streak to 70 consecutive victories.
Congratulations to Derek Knapke — this week’s K&M Contracting Play of the Week.
