Play of the Week 11/30/25: Shawnee’s Trevick Bertke rises up for the two-handed slam versus LCC
- Updated
ELIDA, Ohio (WLIO) — The boys basketball season is underway in West Central Ohio, and the first K&M Contracting play of the week of the 2025-26 winter campaign comes from the opening weekend of the Elida Tip-Off Classic.
The standout moment arrived on Day 1 of the two-day season-opening showcase. Shawnee faced Lima Central Catholic at the Elida Fieldhouse when 6-foot-7 junior Trevick Bertke turned defense into instant offense. Bertke stepped in for a steal, pushed the ball up the floor, and rose for a powerful two-handed dunk that ignited the crowd.
Shawnee fell to LCC in the opener but rebounded in the consolation game with a 79-50 win over tournament host Elida. Bertke impressed across both contests, finishing with 38 combined points in his first two games of the season as part of a breakout start on the hardwood.
Shawnee returns to action this December 5th, hosting Crestview in their home gym.
Until then, congratulations to Trevick Bertke, the first K&M Contracting play of the week honoree of the winter basketball season.
