RIVERDALE — Riverdale earned its first Blanchard Valley Conference victory of the year Tuesday night, sweeping Vanlue in three sets, 25-22, 25-10, 25-14.
Vanlue showed fight early, as Madison Brooks delivered an ace to give the Wildcats a 4-2 lead in the opening set. Aubree Higgins later found open space to tie the score at 10-10.
But Riverdale quickly regained momentum. Leah Miller cut into the deficit with a strong kill, and Claire Inbody followed by hammering home another point to help the Falcons surge ahead.
From there, Riverdale controlled the match, taking the final two sets decisively to secure its first BVC win of the season. The Falcons move to 7-7 overall, while Vanlue falls to 1-10.
