Shawnee and Liberty-Benton play to scoreless draw

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Two state participants from last season went toe to toe Tuesday night, with Shawnee and Liberty-Benton finishing in a 0-0 draw.
Early on, Liberty-Benton’s Jairo Colina swung a dangerous service into the box, but Shawnee goalkeeper Ben Sewell read it well and gathered to end the threat. Moments later, Shawnee tested from distance, forcing a parry wide by Eagles keeper Kooper Leatherman as both goalkeepers were active through the opening spell.
The theme held for 80 minutes. Sewell smothered multiple chances in close, while Leatherman pushed aside long-range efforts and claimed crosses under pressure. Despite stretches of possession for both sides, the final ball never arrived and quality chances went unfinished.
The teams settled for a point apiece in a defensive battle highlighted by composure in goal and organized back lines.
