OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Shawnee Indians secured a crucial win Friday night, defeating Ottawa-Glandorf 27–10 to strengthen their postseason positioning in Division III, Region 10.
Running back Isaac Meeks was unstoppable from the opening snap, scoring three first-half touchdowns to power the Indians’ offense. His first score came on a patient cutback run at the goal line, then he added two more short-yardage touchdowns as Shawnee controlled the tempo early.
Ottawa-Glandorf responded with a first-quarter drive led by freshman quarterback Tanner Vogt, who rolled out and connected with Deegan Miller on an acrobatic toe-tap sideline grab. The Titans converted the play into a field goal but struggled to finish drives the rest of the night.
OG had a chance to close the gap late in the first half, but Shawnee’s Chase DePalma blew up a fourth-and-goal play in the backfield, preserving the momentum for the Indians.
Shawnee’s defense held firm the rest of the way as the Indians closed out their seventh win of the season. With the victory, Shawnee moves closer to securing a first-round playoff bye, while Ottawa-Glandorf continues to search for its first win.
