DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) — St. John’s turned in a strong second-half performance to defeat Fort Jennings 66-43.

The Blue Jays took control in the third quarter and never looked back.

Megan Kerner continued the offense coming out of the break, knocking down a jumper to extend St. John’s lead to 43-24. The junior continued to be a problem for the Musketeers all night.

Fort Jennings tried to keep pace. Ava Knippen attacked the basket for a tough finish, and later Abbie Kahlie found Reese Hellman for an easy layup as the Musketeers searched for momentum.

But the Blue Jays had an answer every time.

In the closing moments of the third quarter, Aubrey Fairchild buried a three-pointer from beyond the arc. The senior finished with 18 points, helping St. John’s take a 50-30 lead into the fourth.

Kerner add onto her big night in the final frame, converting an old-fashioned three-point play on her way to a game-high 26 points.

St. John’s secures the 66-43 win over Fort Jennings.
