LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Liberty Arts Magnet School's third graders took a tumble down the rabbit hole to be guests at the Mad Tea Party in Wonderland.
To celebrate the end of their first unit on classic tales, Mrs. Klingler's English language arts class students attended an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party. The children dressed up for the event and enjoyed a variety of treats, including brownies, cookies, macaroons, and beverages such as lemonade and tea. There were two separate tea parties, and during their high tea, students watched Alice in Wonderland.
"We read the 'The Wind and the Willows' and some of 'Aladdin' and 'Alice in Wonderland' and we've been comparing how they're similar to what we know and how they're different. So to end our unit, we decided to have an 'Alice in Wonderland' inspired tea party and so we are watching the movie to compare it to what we've already learned in the story and just having a little bit of fun as we took our test this morning so we wanted to kind of do something a little fun since we are finished with the big chunks of it," said Ashley Klingler, third grade English Language Arts Teacher.
Mrs. Klingler plans to host unit theme events for her students throughout the school year.
