LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A Lima City Council member kicking off his campaign Tuesday evening for council president ahead of the November general election.
First Ward Councilor Todd Gordon set off for the campaign trail at the I.B.E.W Local 32 building in Lima to begin rallying support for the council president spot. Former seventh ward Lima City Councilor Ann Miles spoke to the audience in support for Gordon. After Tuesday night's event, we talked to Gordon about his plans for the position if elected.
"I want to lead us into a new culture, a new era in when this town believes in itself. When people quit saying 'I hate driving through Lima,' and they say 'I love driving through that town; I love seeing all the changes; I love seeing all the things that is happening in this town; I love seeing it coming back,' and I want to be a part of that," says Todd Gordon, Lima City Council President Candidate.
Gordon is also running against Fifth Ward Lima City Councilor Jamie Dixon for the seat on the November ballot.
