ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Adult Protective Services is tasked with keeping residents over the age of 60 safe, and Allen County's Adult Protective Services now has the top worker in the state.
Deputy Bob Fisher was awarded the "2024 Adult Protective Services Worker of the Year" by the Ohio Coalition for Adult Protective Services. Fisher works as a program manager for Allen County Adult Protective Services. He's responsible for investigating allegations of abuse, providing support services, and coordinating interventions with other agencies.
"We're just trying to do our job and fulfill the needs and rolls out here for the elder, for the senior communities looking at the various exploitations. Abuse, neglects that are reported to us and trying to get them the resources and things that they need to fulfill their lives and move forward," said Deputy Bob Fisher, Adult Protective Services Worker of the Year.
"We've got great community partners, and unless we're willing to work with them, then it's all for not and Bob Fisher does an amazing job to connect us to those resources," said Jacob Larger, Adult Protective Services administrator.
