Signups are underway for 2024 Howl'oween Trick or Trot 5K

The Lima Kiwanis is hosting its annual Howl'oween Trick or Trot 5K and Mile Fun Run and Walk.

October 23, 2024, Press Release from the Kiwanis Club of Lima: The sixth annual Howl'oween Trick or Trot, a 5K Run, One-mile Fun Run, and Virtual Pet Contest, will take place on Sunday, October 27 at Faurot Park and Woodlawn cemetery, on the corner of Woodlawn and North Shore Drive. The Pet Contest will be virtual on the Kiwanis Facebook Page.

The One Mile Fun Run will begin at 4 PM at Faurot Park and wind through a section of the cemetery and back. The 5K will begin at 5 PM at Faurot Park and wind through the cemetery and back to the finish line at Faurot Park. Each walker or runner who finishes the course will receive a finisher medal. The top three male and female runners will receive trophies no matter their ages; in addition, the top three (3) finishers in each category will receive awards.

Onsite registration will begin at 2:30 PM. Proceeds from this event will provide scholarships and incentives for the Lima Kiwanis Service Leadership Program (SLP). Proceeds from the Pet Contest will benefit homeless animals.

Kiwanis is a nonprofit organization with a mission to serve the children of the world. The Lima Kiwanis sponsors 11 Service Leadership programs, nine in Lima City Schools and two at Heir Force Community School, serving students in Grades K-12, plus an Aktion Club for adults with disabilities at the Allen County Board of DD and a collegiate Circle K Club, at Ohio State Lima.
