Visitors of downtown Lima have watched contractors renovate the Old City Prime building for the past year. Â Now, Your News Now has a sneak peek inside of the remodeled building. Â
Restaurant owner John Heaphy says the renovations began last fall and last minute details are being finalized for this weekend's open house. Â The event costs $20 and all of the funds raised will benefit Downtown Lima Inc. Â The non-profit promotes downtown revitalization efforts. Â Heaphy says he's been in business in Lima for the last thirty years and the current momentum downtown is the greatest he's ever seen. Â Heaphy adds that other downtown businesses and restraunts have generated a new buzz on Main Street and he hopes his restaurant will only add to the atmosphere. Â Â Â
The building is split into two separate areas with Old City Prime serving steakhouse style meals downstairs and the Upper Lounge serving small plate selections. Â The Upper Lounge will also feature musical entertainment on the weekends. Â
The open house will be held this Friday and Saturday between six and 10 each night. Â Appetizers will be served and a jazz trio will entertain guests. Â The restaurant officially opens on Monday for lunch service. Â
