Activate Allen County is hoping to get the youngest among us healthy and moving.
After working with businesses and schools, Activate Allen County now putting the challenge out to childcare centers to support healthy behavior in children. Any Allen County childcare facility can sign up for the challenge. In return, Activate Allen County will award funds and provide technical assistance to three area childcare centers all in an effort to make their environments healthier.
"But we can also provide funding to then support nutrition and physical activity. So it could be apparatus for physical activity, so equipment, games, things like that. It could be serving dishes, ways to prepare healthy fruits and vegetables," said Josh Unterbrink, Activate Allen County.
