An Allen County man who was found guilty of felonious assault back in March of this year received his sentencing Wednesday.
Michael Sheets has been sentenced to five to six years in prison. Sheets will first serve the gun specification of three years, and then serve the 2-3 years for the felonious assault charge.
Prosecutors say the day before Easter in 2020, Sheets, his daughter, and her boyfriend Bradley Hutton were in the garage when an argument broke out after a day of drinking, which ended up with Hutton getting shot in the leg.
Hutton took the stand during the jury trial and says that Sheets got the gun.
