ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The Allen County Republican Party packed the house on Friday evening at the UNOH event center for their annual barbecue and rally.
They were both crisscrossing Ohio on the campaign trail in support of U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno.
Once again, the local rally was able to draw some of the top names in Republican politics, including former presidential candidate and current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Governor DeSantis energizing the crowd by telling them next week's election is key in determining the nation’s pathway forward. Ramaswamy is urging people to support Moreno and to reject Ohio issue one, saying it would place individuals in charge of drawing Ohio’s political boundaries who have no accountability to the people. Moreno, who’s facing longtime Democratic incumbent Sherrod Brown in the general election, wrapped up the evening. Moreno told the crowd he was humbled by their support, and they deserve to be treated better by Washington than they have been during recent years. Ohio’s Lt. Governor and all three Republican candidates for Ohio Supreme Court were also in attendance at the rally.
