Pickup day was held for 50 families receiving assistance through WOCAP’s Head Start program.

“It really empowers us more when our community just gathers around us and helps support those in need and our families and we serve the most valuable and vulnerable generation of our youth today. We want nothing more than for every child to open a gift on Christmas day despite their family's needs and financial burdens,” said Elisabeth Parker, Child Development Services associate director.

This year marked the 40th anniversary of the ABATE Toy Run, with approximately 250 motorcyclists participating to support families in need.

“You see more motorcycle riders on a charity run. We're giving people. The families can usually get the food on the table and what that. But after all that stuff they don't have no money for Christmas, so that's where the bikers and whoever steps in and make sure they have a Christmas," said Dana Frost, ABATE Region 3 Toy Run.

ABATE has supported families through WOCAP for approximately 30 years.
