LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Allen County Commissioners are moving forward with two significant projects as they enter into contracts to purchase a pair of properties in downtown Lima.
One of the properties, located at 201 East North Street, is slated to become a bus garage and transportation hub for the Allen County Veterans Service Commission. Commissioners originally planned to build a new facility, but construction costs exceeded their budget. They say the existing property is a practical solution that meets their needs.

"Any of our veterans that are waiting for their appointments or their rides to appointments, they now will have a place to get in out of the weather," said Allen County Commissioner Brian Winegardner. "There will be a bathroom in there, lobby, office area, storage and so on. So I think it will be a good fit for what our veterans need."
The second purchase involves the building at 330 North Main Street, which will temporarily house the Clerk of Courts Department during renovations at the Allen County Courthouse.
